WebSocket support in k6

Posted by Ragnar Lönn on Jun 20, 2017

We’re happy to announce WebSocket support for k6!
Note that this announcement is related to the open source load testing tool k6, not to the loadimpact.com SaaS tool.

We have received a lot of questions about if/when k6 would support WebSocket connections, and we’re happy to tell you all that after having been in development the past month or so, WebSocket support is now live in k6 0.16.0. It is based on the Go WebSocket library github.com/gorilla/websocket and has a nice little API that allows you to control your WebSocket connections. Documentation is available at https://docs.k6.io/docs/k6ws

Try it out and tell us what you think!
