A new year of load testing fun has begun. Lots of things have happened since the last product update email. We’ve built a new tool to convert JMeter JMX files to k6 JS test files, we’ve launched an OSS program and have a number of exciting product updates to share with you.
Busy times here at Load Impact! Not one but two new releases of k6, our open source load testing tool, since last time you heard from us. We’re moving fast towards v1.0 release, thanks to our amazing community. We love you!
It is with great excitement that we announce the launch and general availability of Load Impact Insights, the cloud based results storage, analysis and collaboration product for k6 load tests.
Ever since the first early beta release, some 10 months ago, the team has worked hard to iron out bugs and scale the streaming and analysis of k6 results data, and now we’re here! 🎉
PRODUCT UPDATE - NO.1 2018
A new year is upon us - and a lot is going on at Load Impact. We’ve just done this year’s first release for k6, with a lot of new fabulous features. For this version we’ve had contributions from 10 people outside of Load Impact, yay!
This month we have more updates to share around k6 (our new and open source load testing tool) and LoadImpact Insights. In the last product update email we mentioned we have some major improvements to our product in the works. To be more specific, we can now share with you that we’re building a new version of the LoadImpact product on top of k6 and with Insights as the result experience for k6 based tests. This means that k6 tests will get a new execution mode. Besides being executable locally on machines that you manage yourself, it will be possible to execute k6 tests on globally distributed infrastructure managed by us in the cloud. The result analysis for both modes of execution will be available through Insights.
Hi there!
There’re a lot of things happening at Load Impact at the moment, and to make sure you’re up to date on what we’re up to, we’ll start sending product update emails and posting this on our blog, in the frequency range of once a month. As always we’ll continue to update the changelog as soon as features and bugfixes gets released.
If you’ve visited the Load Impact app today, you’ve probably already noticed some UI refinements. Based on usage patterns and your input, we’ve streamlined and reorganized features so they’re easier and more intuitive. We’ll describe them below, but you’ll discover them quickly and easily just by taking a few moments to click around the app.
It’s been a while since we published our latest app changes, but that’s just because we are working extremely hard behind the scenes on some big improvements: so we can proudly show how load testing should look in the 21st century.
In the meantime, we have made time to work on oft-requested improvements. We often hear that handling organizations, projects and members in Load Impact could be more intuitive.
Introducing the New Organizations & Projects Page
Last week, we decided to tackle this problem and built a new admin page. The new “Organizations & Projects” page brings a unified view to show your organization status, and simplify the management of your organizations, projects, and members.
To provide a better experience for those of you with large screens, we've now optimized the layout of the Load Impact app to provide a better experience for large screens. Check out the new responsive layout: why now? We'll share that, too.
We’re constantly collecting feedback from our users in an effort to improve your favorite performance and load testing software.
Here are a few items we’ve recently pushed live into our app for your convenience.
